Purinsesubanameri - my Japanese Princess

Purinsesubanameri

Written in Japanese characters above, Purinsesubanameri is my Japanese Princess.  Spelled out in English, it's my Princess Bona Marie!

My daughters are in the same school.  Ate Bon is in grade 4(primary 4) level while Baby Ann is in grade 2.  Like what i have stated yesterday, their school is having this Ms. United Nations 2010.  This means, I got two little beauty queens in the school pageant - Ms Fiji and Ms Japan.  This is awesome!

The school is up to 6th primary level.  They also have a lot of students.  Thus, by drawing lots, the school admin scheduled the program in phases.  Yesterday was for the 2nd graders, while today is for the 4th graders.  Next will be the 1st graders, then the 5th & 6th graders, and lastly the 3rd graders.
the country flag of JAPAN

As usual, my wife prepare everything.  The Yukata(japanese costume), the speech, the flag, make-up, the hair-dressing, the sash and the camera.  She is really into this!

Since the country flag of Japan is very easy to make, my wife took care of it already.  She just printed one red circle in the center of a white paper, and there it goes.  My only part is : the greetings.

This is easy enough for me because I know a little Japanese language myself.

My Ms. Fiji

Today, my 8 year-old daughter, Baby Ann will be having an activity in the school.  She's in grade 2 (primary 2) level.  In observance of the UN Week,  the school is having a "Ms. United Nations 2010".  The activity runs from October 11, 2010  to October 15, 2010.  As usual, the young students are very enthusiastic to enter into this school pageant.  In the classroom, they were made to choose as to which country they would represent.  Famous countries were US, China, Spain, UK and Korea.  My baby took the same country that she took last year - Fiji!

The students are very excited about this school pageant, most especially the girls.  I guess, every little girl wants to join a beauty pageant when they grow up.

But in the background, the guardians - the mothers to be precise are more excited than their kids!  These are graders, so the mothers will be preparing everything - the costume, the greetings, the sash, the speech, the country flag, the make-up, and a lot more.   And the camera of course!

Oh yeah.  In this activity, my wife is busier than her baby!  ☺  As if she's the one entering the school pageant.  I tell you its very true!   Well, parents as we are,  its only right to do so.

In the background of all this, my only part is to research on the flag and the Fijian greetings.  So here it is:

Fiji Flag My Baby Fiji Phrases Language Fortville Singapore rental apartments singapore cheap airfare online
the country flag of FIJI

The is the FIJI flag.  I can always print this on an A4 or letter size bond paper and attach a stick to it.  Then.... its already a country flag!

So easy!

Inday sa Balitaw (lyrics & musical notes)

This my daughter's assignment. She is currently in primary 4 (grade 4). Their music teacher asked them to copy the music sheet of the song Inday sa Balitaw from the board and instructed them to transcribe the notes.

Sounds easy, right?

The thing is, the students were not taught on how to transcribe notes. Not yet as of the moment. There was a clue give though. The teacher told them that the first note is "so". And then ask them to follow-on from there.

My daughter almost cried as she does not know how to transcribe notes. She knows how to Google anyway. But she couldn't find what she wanted for her assignment. Lyrics were available all over the net, but not the transcription. Some more, most of the lyrics over the net got a missing line.

Luckily, i knew how to do musical transcription.

Sci Dama Board : how does it look like?

Yesterday,  my 10 year old daughter, Ate Bon, asked me and my wife to make a Sci Dama Board for her.  She need it in school the following day because she is a contestant to the sci dama contest.

She already bought an illustration board and permanent markers for this project, so how could we ever say no.  After all, even if this new to us, I could always ask my Kuya Google to help me out on how it looks like.   (The truth is, I never heard of this during my school days.  We only played chess or dama at the kanto opposite of the public market.)  :D
